334 Sporthorse Stud | Brand Development.
Located in Nottingham Road, Kwa-Zulu Natal, 334 Sporthorse Stud is a breeder of exceptional warmbloods known for their athleticism and jumping prowess. Boasting a strong commitment to excellence, scientific breeding practices and a rich heritage inspired by their foundation mare, Wolke 334, we were tasked to develop a comprehensive brand identity that accurately reflected their pedigree.
About this project.
As with all of our brand developments, we started by defining 334’s visual identity, including logo usage, typography, colour palette, imagery and suggested marketing collateral.
Logo Development
Classic heraldic elements were used to convey a sense of tradition, excellence and strength, reflecting the values and aspirations of 334 Sporthorse Stud. The prominent placement of ‘334’ reinforces the brand name, referencing the foundation mare, Wolke 334, while ‘SPORTHORSE STUD’ clearly communicates the nature of the business.
In terms of font usage, Proxima Nova is a versatile sans-serif typeface family with various weights and styles, offering flexibility for different applications, as well as good readability, which is especially important for website content and marketing materials.
Colour Palette
The chosen colour palette reflects 334’s commitment to excellence, heritage and breeding champion warmbloods. The blue, black and white conveys a sense of authority, trust, excellence and also purity, while the complementary shades evoke a sense of nature, earthiness and strength.
The aim was to develop a brand style guide that would offer consistency across the board – from messaging and visuals, across all marketing materials, including website design, brochures, social media and promotional materials.
Our Solution.
334 Sporthorse Stud will go down as one of our favourite brand developments to date. The result was a compelling identity that effectively positions them as a premier breeder of champion warmbloods and truly lives up to their payoff line: ‘Where champions are bred and legends are made.’
